Dawes Highway Safety stocks a wide range of truck side guard rails and HGV parts. The fitment of side guard systems is a mandatory requirement on all new vehicles over 3.5T, so it’s vital that you have a properly fitting lateral side protection device on your truck or trailer.
Our rails and components are extremely robust and salt spray tested (500 hours) to ensure a high level of durability. We provide VCA tested and approved side guard rails with both fixed and hinged systems to choose from.
You can be assured that our side guard components meet all mandatory requirements of full vehicle type approval under regulation 73 (UNECE) and can be used immediately without worrying about red tape, fees, additional tests and time wasting.

Chassis Mounted Support Beam
Dawes Highway Safety are able to offer a range of extremely robust side guard support beams for mounting side guard systems from the chassis. Unlike many galvanized or zinc variants our support beams are ‘Armour-Tech’ (AT600 smooth zinc rich) coated and overlayed with a polyurethane (PU) top layer to provide a durable finish that has exceptional resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
Hinged Side Guard Legs
Dawes Highway Safety are able to offer a range of hinged and fixed side guard legs to the body building and vehicle repair industry. Our products are clearly ‘E’ approval marked, tested and approved by the VCA. Unlike many galvanized or zinc variants our legs are ‘Armour-Tech’ (AT600 smooth zinc rich) coated and overlayed with a polyurethane (PU) top layer to provide a durable finish that has exceptional resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
Pedestrian End Rail Kits
Dawes Highway Safety are able to offer a range of single, double and triple pedestrian end rail kits. Our range includes all rail mounting bolts, nyloc nuts and washers, guard attachment rivets, end caps and covers.
Aluminium Sideguard Rail
Dawes Highway Safety stock a variety of fully VCA compliant anodised aluminium side rails in a variety of lengths available upon request. We can also offer a high-visibility version painted in bright yellow.
